Note: This class totally needs balancing. I want to make a class that controls a horde of dudes, but isn't overpowered.

Class Skills (4 + Int modifier per level, ×4 at 1st level)

Weapon and Armor Proficiency:

Troops: A battlefield commander is in charge of a group of troops. Troops are creatures of any race that can communicate with the battlefield commander. The troops have a CR equal to the battlefield commander's levels in this class + 1/2 his levels in other classes - 1 (minimum 1/2). Any class levels for these troops must be the warrior class.

Starting at level 3, a battlefield commander can choose to have more than one troop. For each additional troop he decides to have beyond one, his troops have -1 CR.

Example:

A 3rd level battlefield commander can have one CR 2 troop (such as a 3rd level orc warrior) or two CR 1 troops (such as 2 2nd level orc warriors).

Tactics (Ex): I will fill this in later, but basically, they are something like a dragon shaman/marshal aura that only applies to troops.

Specialized Troops Choose Fighter, Monk, or Paladin. Your troops can now have class levels in this class, but all of their levels must be of this class.

Specialized Troops 2 Choose Barbarian, Ranger, or Paladin. Your troops can now have class levels in this class, but all of their levels must be of this class and the CR of troops taking this class is reduced by 1.

Specialized Troops 3 Choose Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, or Wizard. Your troops can now have class levels in this class, but all of their levels must be of this class and the CR of troops taking this class is reduced by 2.

Specialized Troops 4 Choose any base class. Your troops can now have class levels in this class, but all of their levels must be of this class and the CR of troops taking this class is reduced by 3.

Specialized Troops 5 Choose any prestige class. Your troops can now have class levels in this class, but they must take levels in only one base class available to them and this prestige class and the CR of troops taking this class is reduced by 3.

Adaptation

A beastmaster could control animals using the same CR guidelines.
