Kender is a playable lineage in 5th edition.

Unofficial Description: Small curious humanoids distantly related to gnomes.

Kender Traits

Kender  (pointer)

Creature Type. Humanoid

Ability Score Increase. Increase one ability score by 2 and another one by 1, or increase three different ability scores by 1

Age. About a century

Size. Your size is Small.

Speed. Your base speed is 30 feet.  

Fearless. Summary: Buff to saves against being frightened. 

Kender Aptitude. Summary: Gain a skill (Insight, Investigation, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, or Survival). 

Taunt. Summary: Use a bonus action to taunt a creature. If it fails a Wisdom save, it is hindered if it attacks a creature other than you.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and choice of one other
