Weight: | 10 lb. plus baby (usually 7 lbs.) |
A weapon clearly designed for the most vile of vile beings, this +1 heavy flail has no normal flail head but instead a spiky hollowed-out harness suitable for an average humanoid baby. Once secured, the baby is unable to die and cannot be harmed permanently. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to abate the pain of high-speed blunt impact. Truly the weapon of sadists.
Non-evil creatures who see the weapon must make a DC 16 Will save or become sickened as long as they can see or hear it, while good creatures must make two saves. Failing both saves renders them nauseated for 1d3 rounds and sickened for the remaining duration.
Equipped babies have a habit of vocalizing loudly, causing a −4 penalty on Listen checks in 60 ft and forcing a 20% spell failure chance on any spells with vocal components cast in the area. It also is treated as a Thundering weapon (which stacks with any actual Thundering enhancement placed on the flail).
Good-aligned paladins in particular have a supernatural aversion to this weapon and those who wield it, causing a −4 penalty on attack rolls (typically caused by trying to avoid hitting the baby).
- Prereqs: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, delay deathSpC, must have a sick sense of humor.
- Cost to Create: 4,000 gp, 320 XP, 8 Days.
