Traits

False Appearance. While the Heptassail is prone and remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from large bush or briar patch.

Regeneration. The Heptassail regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the Heptassail takes cold or necrotic damage, the trait doesn't function at the start of the Heptassail's next turn. The Heptassail dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Xenipiji Network. If an Xenipiji creature is within 1 mile of a patch of indigo thyme, it can communicate telepathically with a xenipiji creature within a patch of indigo thyme within a mile of the first patch. Indigo thyme creates a network through which this is extended; giving almost unlimited telepathic range as long as there is an unbroken chain of indigo thyme patches between the xenipiji creature and the creature it wishes to communicate with.

Actions

Multiattack. The Heptassail makes three attacks.

Bite (1/turn). Melee Attack Roll: +8, reach 10 ft. Hit: 14 (2d8+5) Piercing damage and the target is Grappled. While the creature is grappled, it is also Restrained. The Heptassail can only have one creature grappled at a time.

Tentacle. Melee Attack Roll: +8, reach 10 ft. Hit: 14 (2d8+5) Slashing damage and the target is pulled or pushed 5 feet (Heptassail's choice).

Reactions

Spring from Prone. Trigger: A creature moves within 10 feet of the Heptassail. Response: The Heptassail may rise from prone at no movement cost.
