Lore[edit]

Unofficial Description: Horse-sized, magical spider that can shift to the ethereal plane and back

Other Lore[edit]

 5e (2014) lore  [3]
A phase spider possesses the magical ability to phase in and out of the Ethereal Plane. It seems to appear out of nowhere and quickly vanishes after attacking. Its movement on the Ethereal Plane before coming back to the Material Plane makes it seem like it can teleport.

 3.5e lore  [SRD3 OGL] [4]
Phase spiders are aggressive predators that can move quickly from the Ethereal Plane to attack opponents on the Material Plane. A typical phase spider’s body is 8 feet long. It weighs about 700 pounds
