So... Golems have hearts?[edit]

And plants? And vermain have souls that can be drained?--Change=Chaos. Period. SC 05:54, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

As ever, Spaz, you have a clear inability to read anything your insane mind doesn't wish you to see. Nowhere are 'souls' mentioned, and even if they were, nothing in DnD canon states that plants and/or vermin lack souls.
More specifically you're benefiting from their positive animating energy. Plants are alive, and golems, while not "alive" are animated by a positive energy source (elementals typically). Undead are the exception, being negative energy. -- Eiji-kun 10:22, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
@IP guy- it too early in the morning for me to be clever abbout this, so here it is: "spiritual transfer" is mentioned, thus souls were assumed to be a factor, so please impale thine stupid self on a pike before leaving this site.
@Eiji- thank you, that was very helpful and made the feat much more clear as far as mode of opperation. Maybe your insight can be included in the feat itself, especially since I have foreseen the "can I drain the negative energy elemental" argument spark from this feat.--Change=Chaos. Period. Negative energy elementals are homebrew, so I'm not too concerned about putting it in the feat proper. But of course I can tell you here, or a DM can make a judgement call. -- Eiji-kun 16:25, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
There are canon negative energy beasties, like the Xag Ya (or is it Yi?), usually outsiders or elementals.
Also, is there added benefit for draining positive energy beasties?--Change=Chaos. Period. SC 22:54, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
I stand corrected. Feat clarified. No extra benefit for positive elementals. -- Eiji-kun 01:03, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Here's how I see it. It's not healing you from stolen souls or hearts, just animating energy. Golems are usually powered by elementals, which are usually powered by the planes. Plants are powered by positive energy, as are almost all living things(Graveborn Soul, that undeadish race Eiji made, etc, aren't). Undead are powered by negitive energy. All of those keep the creature alive. Why limit what heals you based on if it's powered by negitive energy, positive energy, planlar energy, redstone energy, or any energy?--YX33A 02:18, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
Because fluff.
Yeah, that's it, it's just fluff really. Positive energy runs normal life, even elementals (they have Con scores even if the golems don't). Negative energy is always being defined as this void, this thing which devours or eats or a force of entropy. It's counter-inuative to healing. So I didn't. -- Eiji-kun 02:33, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
