| Feather Fall (Ex) | Yousters can ignore falling damage entirely in their natural form, provided they are conscious and not helpless/bound. |
| Poultrymorph (Su) | As a free action once per round, the Youster can choose a single creature within Close range and assume that creature's form perfectly, copying all stats, abilities, and even equipment. However, the Youster retains its own Intelligence score, immunities and special abilities, cannot benefit from increases to Intelligence, gains the Augmented (Magical Beast) subtype, and can communicate only as a chicken would, clucking, crowing, and so on. It can retain this alternate form indefinitely, but it returns to its natural form when slain, and all copied equipment crumbles to vapor when removed from the Youster or upon the Youster's death. For any assumed abilities that rely on Intelligence (Such as intelligence-based spellcasting), the Youster uses its assumed Wisdom or Charisma score (Whichever is higher) in place of Intelligence. |
Appearing to be a normal chicken, these creatures are speculated to be the children of some forgotten god, though nobody wants to think about what the other parent of the species was. They only become distinguishable from normal chickens when they become fascinated with a person (Typically a person holding food), at which point this attraction triggers their innate shapeshifting.
Strategies and Tactics[edit]
Yousters tend to be mixed in with normal chickens, but will randomly become fascinated with certain people (Often when food, such as corn or bread, is involved) and morph into them, following them around and hoping for food. As their attention span is dwarfed by even that of a bumblebee, they're found shifting forms quite often. If threatened, they use all abilities of their current form with a berserker's ferocity (But with all the intelligence of a stump); If those abilities run out or their current form is seemingly weaker than their enemy, they're emulate the strongest enemy.
Ecology[edit]
Physical Characteristics: They appears exactly like chickens until they Poultrymorph.
Environment: Anywhere chickens can be found.
Lifespan: Most of them live as long as an average human.
Diet: Yousters typically eat the same things ordinary chickens do, even when poultrymorphed. This can make blending into a tavern setting very difficult, resulting in things like "Stop biting the shiny buttons on that man's coat you weirdo".
Alignment: Not advanced enough to have much of a mind, most Yousters are true neutral.
Typical Treasure[edit]
None, beyond a few small shinies like coins, and whatever food they're managed to hoard.
Advanced Creatures[edit]
Yousters advance by HD, splitting their skill points between Hide and Spot.
