Blighted souls are rare and far between thanks to the Gods, they are inherently poisonous to their very core, from their blood and flesh to their soul (figuratively speaking for the latter). Not all blighted souls are the agent of sinister powers bent on destroying all that is beautiful, but most are. The process of becoming a blighted soul requires one to become immune to poison and then drink twice one's body weight in a poisonous mixture which costs 4000 gp of raw material, all of this within 24 hours.

This is often the case with [[Biohazard (3.5e Template)|biohazard]] blighted souls. In exchange, the blighted soul gains a single extra blight ability at 4th and 7th level.
