You restricted this feat to first level only, but wouldn't it be better to allow taking it anytime a character gains the first level in a new class, to allow it to works when multiclassing and with prestige classes?

: I would allow it for a prestige class certainly, I did not specify base class. As far as prerequisites, it is just kind of tricky to write. You don't need level in the class to take the feat, so you could nab it at 1st level for a class you plan on taking later.
