If they die within 1 week of being exposed, their corpse will grow pustules that burst releasing a dozen immature Azure Fungi (who {{srd5lc|Disengage}} and {{srd5lc|Dash}} to flee). While not a disease, any means of curing {{srd5lc|Disease}} will neutralize the spores.

==Description==
Azure fungi are often mistaken for {{5ep|Grell}}. They consist of a floating, lumpy, spherical body with long, blueish tentacles hanging from it. They have no eyes and no mouth (sages suggest they absorb nutrients through their tentacles).

They are deceptively quick, often striking an attacker before it can engage, and even catch arrows. They often strike from hiding. They have no eyes, but perceive their environment with clarity.

The azure fungi are not evil, but will attack other creatures without provocation. They seem intelligent, and can communicate with each other via subtle tentacle movements, pheromones, or some other, undiscovered means, but have no verbal language.
