|benefit=You may select certain [[SRD:Elemental Type|elementals]] to accompany you as an [[SRD:Druid's Animal Companion|animal companion]], if you so wish. If you do choose to have an [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] as an animal companion, of course, the [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] has either a good [[SRD:Saving Throw#Fortitude|Fortitude]] save (if it based on earth or water) or a good [[SRD:Saving Throw#Reflex|Reflex]] save (if it based on fire or air), instead of what is normal for an animal companion. The [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] can also have both good [[SRD:Saving Throw#Fortitude|Fortitude]] and [[SRD:Saving Throw#Reflex|Reflex]] saves if it is based on some mixture of two elements. If you take this feat at level 1, you may begin play with a [[SRD:Small Air Elemental|small air elemental]], [[SRD:Small Earth Elemental|small earth elemental]], [[SRD:Small Fire Elemental|small fire elemental]], small ice elemental<small><sup>1</sup></small>, small magma elemental<small><sup>1</sup></small>, small ooze elemental<small><sup>1</sup></small>, small smoke elemental<small><sup>1</sup></small> or a [[SRD:Small Water Elemental|small water elemental]], instead of the normal animal companions available to be selected. Additionally, once you are of sufficiently high level, you can select your [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] companion from one of the following lists, applying the indicated adjustment to your druid level (in parentheses) for purposes of determining the [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental's]] characteristics and special abilities:
