|effect=You cannot place ranks in the [[SRD:Listen Skill|Listen]] skill and take a -2 penalty to initiative. These penalties are overridden and do not stack if you are [[SRD:Deafened|deafened]]. Out of combat, you do not hear any creature speaking to you at normal volume or lower unless they are speaking directly to you.
