Unbalanced, perhaps not entirely due to SR though

Namely, I'm eyeing those stats, overall +2... but more importantly, a -4 in something is not as important as a +4 in something (and in this case, it's a +6) so I'm wary of that. That along isn't LA 1 worthy but it pushes things up there. (EDIT: Oh, and the +4 saves vs spells, which is "saves vs most things", which is huge).

On SR, it's unbalanced moreso that over or underpowered. At early levels its overpowered... a 50% miss chance is usually 10 + your HD, so 11 to a 1st level character. I often stick a 14 in Con, and more in high level games. Especially if my gimmick is SR and/or Con, you could start out with as much as an 18... that is a 15% chance a spell will go through at level 1 against an equal level caster.

But then it doesn't scale, and by the time you hit levels 4-8, its become normal, then quickly outpaced, until it may as well not be there.

Tell me, would you rather be stronger and go for LA 1 or weaker and go for LA 0? Depending on your goal, I have different advice on how to proceed. -- Eiji-kun 06:44, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

I'd prefer to make it a LA 0. I've got some additional commentary, but I'd rather hear what you have to say before continuing. -- ArelMCII 07:59, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
In that case... hmmm, I'd want to either muck with the ability scores or the +4 saves, but not both. One would do. On matters of SR, I'm still thinking of a good solution for you. I want to make it scale without losing the fluff of it somehow being tied to their constitution, I just don't know how yet. -- Eiji-kun 08:10, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
What comes immediately to mind would be to either ditch the +2 Dex (added because elves are graceful and dwarves can stay on their feet easily, but I could just as easily justify the elves' quickness and dwarves' slowness canceling each other out) or drop the bonus on saves down to +2, and I'm kind of leaning towards the latter. -- ArelMCII 08:36, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
