What the hell is a treemadillo?!

A result of a magical botch and interactions with the god of nature, treemadillos are strange, yet mundane, half-animal half-plant armadillo-like creature which comes in various earth-tone browns and green hues, its hard carapace not unlike tree bark or the surface of a pinecone. They eat insects and occasionally berries, and act as prey for woodpeckers, termites, magma scorpions, and fire in general. Their eyesight is poor, but they have strong noses which they use to sniff out insect burrows. Generally docile, their sharp digging claws can still prove to be very effective in defending themselves when cornered.

Treemadillos are available as a replacement animal on the summon nature's ally I list. It is also available as a druid's animal companion.

Combat[edit]

Treemadillos tend to be docile, but have strong armor plates to protect them and the ability to dig to avoid predators. When cornered, their sharp digging claws become deadly weapons. Treemadillos fear fire, as their bark-like skin proves weak to it.

Plant Traits: Partly plant, treemadillos are immune to all mind-affecting effects, poison, sleep, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning. They are not subject to critical hits. Unlike plants, they still breath, eat, and sleep. They count as both animals and plants.

Scent: Treemadillos possess scent.
