Blast Shape Warlock Least, Occultist Savant Least; 1st |
When you use this blast shape on an Eldritch Blast, it forms a shifting shield of energy around your body. Doing so grants you a +1 Deflection Bonus to armor class, +1 per dice of damage your Eldritch Blast would ordinarily deal. It also grants you Damage Reduction 1/Cold Iron, +1 per dice of damage your Eldritch Blast would normally deal. All bonuses granted by this Blast Shape last for 1 round, unless otherwise noted.
The invocation has additional abilities based on what Eldritch Essence you use with it, as follows. However, those effects with a duration of longer than one round prevent you from using a blast with that Essence again until the duration is up, so choose wisely.
No Essence: Spell Resistance equal to 10 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Frightful Blast: A Sacred (If good) or Profane (If Evil) bonus on Will saves equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Sickening Blast: A Sacred (If good) or Profane (If Evil) bonus on Fortitude saves equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Beshadowed Blast: Immunity to Blindness and Deafness for a number of rounds equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Brimstone Blast: Resistance to Fire equal to 5 + 5 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Hellrime Blast: Resistance to Cold equal to 5 + 5 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Bewitching Blast: Immunity to Mind-Affecting effects for a number of rounds equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Noxious Blast: Immunity to Poison effects for a number of rounds equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Repelling Blast: Immunity to Knockback, Trip and any other similar effects for a number of rounds equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Vitrolic Blast: Resistance to Acid equal to 5 + 5 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess.
Utterdark Blast: While under the effects of an Utterdark Shield, you subtract a number equal to 1 + 1 per dice of Eldritch Blast you possess from the number of negative levels or points of ability damage and/or drain any effect(s) would inflict upon you while it lasts.
Blastbind: Immunity to the spell attached to the Blastbind for as long as the Blastbind lasts.
Adaptation
Effects can be created for any other Eldritch Essence invocation; The shield protects against what the blast would normally inflict.
NOTE: When combined with the Eldritch Blast Specialist, this invocation becomes ridiculously powerful; Allowing them to negate many annoying effects and granting resistance to various forms of damage in addition to the EBS's already-high damage output. Use that combo at your own risk. If your player breaks your game with this, advice from one DM to another: Instead of pulling your hair out in frustration, pull out theirs. It's more fun.*
- DISCLAIMER That's a joke, peeps. Do it only at your own risk.
