Soo, the idea is interesting but it has some defects:

  • It's massive. I understand your need to cover a lot of invocations, but I'd considered using a table to making it look nicer. This a formatting concern though. The only game problem it comes from this is the need to remember a complex system (one that you could also expand).
  • It's strong, at least in my opinion. I'd raise the balance point to VH. In fact I'd expected it to prevent the warlock from using its EB (but not other invocations), as if its energy was all directed in the sustaining of the shield.
  • There are no clear rules on the mechanics of damaging the shield: normally you don't inflict damage to shields, so does it work only when someone attempt to sunder it? That does not seem to be the intent so maybe you should clarify it. You probably meant that it prevents damage to the user by taking it itself.
  • Hexing Blast and Essence Blast have the same effects, probably a copypasta error. --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 14:41, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
On the ability to damage the shield, you should click the link that is provided - Shield (3.5e Creature Ability) - and it explains a lot more of the mechanics. This functions like Zarya's bubble shield in Overwatch, more or less.
This is also one of my older projects from 5 years ago when I was less experienced and had less to offer; Eventually I'll go back over everything and fix it, but that won't take priority over my current projects.
And yes, I believe that's a copypaste error. --Zhenra-Khal (talk) 20:08, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
Ooh totally missed it, nevermind --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 20:11, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
