On closer inspection the human was not human at all. If the subtle character quirks didn't clue you in, once their skin was pierced it quickly became apparent that they were of bio-mechanical nature.
Creations of a mad scientist dedicated to pushing the boundaries of science and magic, and the fusion of flesh and steel, replicant humans are designed to look, feel, and act like humans. However the truth is that they are a form of biomechanical android. Devoid of their skin covering they appeared to be flayed bodies of plastic, steel, and more organic compounds and hybrid systems with new and alien organs unrelated to any human counterpart. In their most base form what makes up their body is their skull, spinal cord, and a mysterious black box that serves as both a power supply and data storage unit. All replicants come built in with this black box unit pre-installed.
The other change from a real human is the fact that in spite of their convincing human behavior, replicant humans do not possess actual free will. One day their programming may rise to a point where they do, but for the time they are slaves to their programming, no matter how complex.
Replicant humans are about 25% heavier than a human of their size, and speak Common and computer languages via their bot interface ability.
Combat[edit]
Replicant humans are capable of obtaining class levels. They fight as expected of a member of the race and class they duplicate.
Bot Interface (Sp): The replicant human can replicate the effect of bot interface at will, but only with a range of touch, as a standard action, and a duration of concentration. You may make program checks as part of your concentration. Ill suited for combat, it is largely used for interacting with other machines. Using it on another replicant human is considered a grave hostile action except in the more strange circumstance.
Limited Programming: The replicant human actually has an intelligence score and may use either their Intelligence or Wisdom to determine their skill points and languages known. It is as smart as a human, but lacks free will to resist orders that are built into its programming at birth. That doesn't mean it cannot have a personality, or even a personality in conflict of their prime directive, but they are unable to resist it even if they twist the intent. For the purpose of becoming hacked by others, the replicant human is considered a complex machine with an additional +10 to the DC due to its relatively advanced abilities.
Pseudo-Construct Traits: Though humanoid type, the replicants are also very much constructs as they are "built" rather than grown and they are composed of both natural and artificial organs and materials. They do not possess the normal bot traits, but instead hold the following traits. Replicants eat and breathe but their only dietary requirements are water and trace minerals usually found in water (though most prefer to consume food for the taste). They do not sleep but they do trance like elves. If denied nourishment or air they do not die, but rather fall inert until the time that nourishment or air is restored. Their unique biology also renders them immune to disease and sleep effects.
Replicants do not heal naturally, but are repaired like constructs. They benefit from both positive energy and repair spells equally. They can always make repairs on themselves over the course of 8 hours gaining hp and repairing ability damage as a normal human resting provided they have 50 gp in raw materials for the night to work on themselves or others. They count as both constructs and humanoid (human) types.
Replicants who are rendered less than 0 hp but greater than -10 are inert instead of dying. They are still is unconscious and helpless, and he cannot perform any actions. However, an inert replicant does not lose additional hit points unless more damage is dealt to him, as with a living creature that is stable. They technically do not possess souls and are thus immune to any effect which would alter or effect the soul but their black box provides them with a soul substitute, as long as the plane of Mechanus or the physical box can be accessed.
Skills: Like humans, replicant humans gain 4 extra skill points at 1st level and 1 extra skill point at each additional level. Program is always a class skill for them.
Replicant Human Psion 3[edit]
Psionics: The example replicant is a 3rd level Psion (Telepath).
Typical Psion Powers Known (power points 14, base save DC 12 + power level): 1st— inertial armor*, matter agitation, mindlink* (DC 13), mind thrust* (DC 13), vigor*; 2nd—psionic suggestion* (DC 14), read thoughts (DC 14).
- Power can be augmented.
