Two Questions - Variant for Whip Users and Monk AC

Two questions about this prestige class.

First would it be able to be adapted without much issue to be used by a whip user. All of the abilities seem to work with the combat style of the whip and the Skill Focus pre-requisite seems to match thematically with a whip fighter.

Second would a monk be able to make use of Armor of Chains and still be treated as unarmored?

@whips: It should work, the chain flavor is just a product of the whole kyton thing.
