This helmet has one eye covered with a large red laser which scans over what you are looking at.
This helmet synergies with armor, providing a +1 armor bonus that stacks with other forms of armor (unlike most armor bonuses). It cannot be enhanced as armor itself, it only serves to augment existing armor. Beyond guarding the head from danger, the analysis helm also is excellent as improving one's visual abilities. You can spontaneously convert any 1st level spell slot to cast any of the detect alignment spells or detect magic. Likewise you can expend a 2nd level spell slot you can cast scan, using your highest mental ability modifier to determine the DC and your character level as your caster level, even if the spell is normally not on your spell list. Finally you can expend a 3rd level spell slot to cast arcane sight. Each of these spells may be used 3/day, regardless how many spell slots you have remaining.
The helmet provides a +5 competence bonus on Appraise and Spot checks. Once per day the user can use identify. This doesn't use any spell slots. The analysis helm takes up the head slot.
Psionic Version: The analysis helm consumes 1 PP for 1st level spells, 3 PP for 2nd level spells, and 5 PP for 3rd level spells. The spells are psionic versions, but otherwise act the same.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, arcane sight, detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, detect law, detect magic, identify, scan.
Cost to Create: 5000 gp, 400 EXP, 10 days.
