Outlast the Ages
Universal
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 9
Components: S, V, F, XP
Casting time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Target: Creature touched
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes

The touched creature and focus become inexorably linked to each other; while the item is on the same plane as the creature, the creature ceases to age. This cessation of aging lasts for a number of years equal to ten (10) multiplied by the CL of the caster at the time the spell is cast, thereafter the creature begins aging normally. This cessation in aging is effective against aging effects as well as natural aging.

Should the item and creature be on different planes for longer than 24 hours, or should the item be destroyed, the creature immediately ages the entire time prevented by this effect, possibly accruing age categories. Even if this spell is recast or the creature and item be once more on the same plane, accrued years do not disappear. Should its maximum age be reached, it immediately ages to Venerable and gains one negative level per day, which can't be removed by any means until it has had the spell recast upon it.

Recasting the spell upon an existing focus will replace the number of years remaining on the effect with a new value, determined by the current CL of the caster. Upon a new casting, accrued years of aging prevented from a previous casting of this spell are no longer counted for penalty aging.

Focus: Nonmagical object whose price is at least 5,000 gp. After this ritual the item may not be made magical. The item becomes especially durable however, and gains a hardness of 20 (unless its hardness was greater beforehand) and its HP triples. XP Cost: 2,000 XP
