Want to Help?

I am building Complete Epic to be High Level focused. This is a bit tricky since by 24+, what "High Level" means is uncharted territory. But I now have feats, and I now have at least one class (God), which should show where I am aiming my baseline. I understand Leziad has an idea. When it is made, I'll be happy to add it.

My weakness tends to be the text around the charts and everything. That, and I'm sure I'll need to grammarcheck, given where I do most of my work and my inability to handle the various typos that result.

If you want to make it in the High-level range, you could always extend my grimoire tables to the appropriate levels, and then model characters around that baseline. In that way, you have a concrete place to refer to as far as damage, HP, DCs, and attacks go. --Ghostwheel (talk) 10:11, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
I'll compare them to the tables I have. Link? -- Eiji-kun (talk) 11:05, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't know how you got your tables, but since I took actual H-range characters and figured out their actual stats, I think it might be a tad more accurate. With this model, you expect one monster for every H-range character. --Ghostwheel (talk) 12:03, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
How will you do this if 3.5 is already out? When you say "sourcebook" it makes it sound like it's part of SRD. Cedric (talk) 15:51, 26 February 2018 (MST)
There are plenty of sourcebooks that are unambiguously not part of the SRD. Treat this like any other third-party content. Geodude671 (talk) 23:15, 26 February 2018 (MST)

WIP Indeed

So this thing has been a thorn in my side. I've focus issues which ends up with me losing track of my projects at times. In this case it's been a big issue since I really want to shore this one up, buuuuuut I've got 99 other things to do IRL and out.

The biggest issue actually here is that I need to get myself back in the mindset of what I was doing here at its intended balance range. This is the crux, because people forgetting what balance things are supposed to be is why we have the Monk standing next to the Druid, and why "power creep" is even a thing. And I rather avoid that if I can.

Placing this message here since it seems that there are expectant people waiting for me who have asked when this will be done. The answer is "I don't know, but still trying". I figured I should give the explanation exactly why it hasn't been done yet. All I can say is I won't give up on it, the last time I did that on a sourcebook I sandboxed it because I knew I wouldn't/couldn't continue it.

Anyway, that's all, just an FYI. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 02:31, 1 November 2017 (MDT)

So...if I wanted to help with some classes, what would you have me do? -SecondDeath777 22:28, 19 February 2018
Part of the problem isn't a lack of time (though that is the case technically) but rather a disruption of thought. One of the big things I tried to do is have everything made for CE be balanced around the same balance point: ostensibly High level buuuuut in epic levels this is uncharted territory so there isn't really a conception for what High level means. Rather, it was balanced around a relative point.
But at some point I was disrupted and forgot what point that was. And I really don't want to botch the whole thing by picking arbitrarily.
I am trying to rediscover which class it was I tried to balance around. Was it God? Something else? I am unsure. If I can figure this part out, I can start work. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 18:50, 20 February 2018 (MST)
Ah. I see. Well, you ever need a hand, just shout. -SecondDeath777 21:56, 20 February 2018
question, what qualifications does one need to help? if possible i'd like to try and find a way to redo epic magic, since epic spells as we know them eventually lead to omniversal domination, especially with things like the fortification seed and permanency, not to mention certain homebrew that let you summon up pun pun levels of power as soon as you break 21st. -Dr.Drako 20:50, 25 Febuary 2018

Math, oh god the math...

I do believe it might be possible to find a way to figure out the math behind stats at lower levels and extrapolate that, at least for monsters. from there it would be a matter of figuring out what you want out of your characters in response to that. For example using the monster creation tables for pathfinder I was able to find the trend-line for different stats, giving me polynomial equations for finding equivalent values at arbitrarily high CRs. I picked pathfinder because of the availability of data, and if possible I could share the spreadsheet here assuming there isnt any legality I am unaware of.
