Talk:Sniper Breath Weapon (3.5e Feat)

I was rude last night and just went for it without asking the reason for the numbers.

Here is my chance to do what I failed to do, to better understand the choice.

So, is there a reason why ray is only 3 times the range but spread gets a 5 times range?

I always saw spreads like a shotgun and how it has a good close range area of effect but the drawback was how it’s range is limited. Meanwhile the line is like a sniper where it does not have as big of an AOE but the distance makes up for it. With spread being 5 times, it pretty much negates the use of line.
