Sniper Shotgun Breath?[edit]
Here is my chance to do what I failed to do, to better understand the choice.
So, is there a reason why ray is only 3 times the range but spread gets a 5 times range?
I always saw spreads like a shotgun and how it has a good close range area of effect but the drawback was how it’s range is limited. Meanwhile the line is like a sniper where it does not have as big of an AOE but the distance makes up for it. With spread being 5 times, it pretty much negates the use of line.

- I think the author did it so because when dealing with breath weapons, typically lines are 60 ft, while cones are 30 ft. This way a ray would be 180 ft long for the line breath weapon, and 150 ft long for the cone breath weapon. Remember that line and ray mean different things in Dnd! --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 16:29, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
