This battleaxe shakes slightly as if simmering with rage, its edges glowing dull cherry red with spite.
This +1 battleaxe has a particular power which can be activated as a swift action, in which you declare a grudge against any creature that has damaged you within the last round. When you do, you gain the Bane weapon enhancement, but only against that one creature. The enhancement remains until you defeat that creature. If you become unable to defeat them or otherwise attempt to establish a new Bane effect before your previous grudge was resolved, the weapon curses you with a −2 penalty on attack and damage for 24 hours. This is cumulative, though it can be lifted with remove curse.
If you have a favored enemy, you can activate its grudge function and it applies to all creatures of that favored enemy you possess instead of one creature, and ends as soon as you defeat one creature of that type.
In addition, on a natural 20, the weapon can grind into opponents under your Bane effect. This acts as a FleshgrindingBoVD weapon enhancement.
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, rage.
