3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
A nasty weapon made from a simple bear trap, while close it is an effective bludgeoning weapon, however it is much deadlier if opened before making an attack.
The bear trap fist can be primed as a swift action, opening the maw of the weapon. When an attack is made with the primed weapon, it deal weapon damage in piercing and slashing damage in addition to the normal weapon damage, the critical hit modifier of the weapon become 18-20/x2 and the attack is made as if you had the Impale feat.
A nonproficient creature must prime the trap as a full-round action and attack themselves on natural 1 with a primed bear trap fist, this is in addition to normal non-proficiency penalties.
As fist weapon the bear trap fist cannot be disarmed, it must also be worn as a gauntlet and is not drawn. It goes without saying that a creature cannot use the hand which has the bear trap fist equipped to do much.
