Beast of Warning
Warlock Lesser; 4th
|
You conjure a fantastical medium sized beastly creature like a hound or other creature, though clearly unnatural. You can set it to guard an area, in which case it will not move from its position, or guard a creature in which case it will always attempt to remain adjacent, adopting the movement forms of its charge up to 30 ft each round. In either case it will react to the approach of any Small or larger creature approaching within 30 ft and begin barking, howling, or otherwise making loud aggressive noises. If the creature enters within 5 ft, it will automatically attack the offending creature (your caster level + 5 for attack rolls, 1d10+5 magical piercing bludgeoning or slashing damage). It is considered to have an action ready to attack, but otherwise can only attack any one creature once per round on triggering or at the end of their turn.
The beast has normal senses, darkvision out to 60 ft, and see invisibility, as well as a base +10 to Spot and Listen checks. All other checks at done at base +0. It can otherwise be fooled by disguises or hiding. The creature is unreal and cannot be harmed, but can be dispelled. You can set conditions for creatures it will not alert to, so long as they can be seen or heard. The spell lasts 24 hours or until dispelled, and you may only have one active at any one time. It also ends if the beast and its charge are ever more than 100 ft away from each other.
