1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
A Broad Greatsword, as the name suggests, is a huge weapon with a particularly wide and thick blade: it is actually in between a Greatsword and a Fullblade in therms of weight, proportions and handling characteristics.
It is is too large for a medium-size creature to use with two hands without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon (it counts as Fullblade); medium-size creatures proficient with martial weapons can use a Broad Greatsword with a -2 penalty to attach rolls, due to its weight.
The Broad Greatsword counts as a Greatsword or as a Fullblade (but not as these two last weapons together) for the purpose of any of the following feats: Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization: if a character has any of these feats both on the Greatsword and on the Fullblade, the bonuses of the feats from the two last weapons are not cumulative within the Broad Greatsword.
