Cala'diel (3.5e Campaign Setting)/NPCs
These are NPC's that can be used as a random interaction. When I ran this campaign these are Story/Plot NPC's.
Raven Stormchapel[edit]

Raven was born and raised in the town of Blacksteel. Her father was a fisherman who would also charter people to random Islands of the Copper Isles on the side. It was from him that Raven learned to spearfish and bow fish. 1 year ago, while traveling with her father from Blacksteel to Jeuno, their boat was attacked. Lizardfolk pirates would attack almost every boat leaving from Jeuno and then burn the boats, taking only what they needed. They were able to fend off the lizardfolk attack, but just barely. Most of the crew was killed, including her father, and their bodies were lost in the river during the boarding attempts.
Upon reaching Jeuno, having no evidence to back up their story, they were arrested as pirates trying to sell stolen goods. Her story made its way around town and she was released on bail to a dwarf named Shipdock Mcdwarf. With the rise in pirate activity, Shipdock planned to use her as a bodyguard on his ship. This partnership worked very well for both parties and lasted for about 6 months.
While Shipdock was selling his wares in Volmoria, Raven was ambushed on the docks and taken to the Volmoria Colosseum. She is currently being forced to fight there.
Thera Lazuli[edit]

Thera was a orphan growing up in her hometown of Summerfalls, her parents are not known. She was 9 when the town was attacked. While the town burned she was aided by orphanage workers and was able to escape, however escaping the flames turned out to be a worse fate. They were rounded up and forced to work in mines by their attackers, in the city of Koal. She worked as a slave for 6 years, spending all of the time mining. When she was 15 she joined in a escape attempt that worked out for her, but not for some others.
She was able to join with a band of adventurers, and from them she learned to wield a greatsword. Due to the years of mining with a pickaxe, the greatsword felt very natural to her. In battle she typically swings away, her fighting skills being very unpolished. She became very skilled with it. From the age of 15 to 19 she stayed with the adventurers, helping them carry their things, cook, hunt and so on. She adapted well to being an adventurer. During this time, she learned the area around Koal very well, and began thinking of ways she could eventually save the rest of the people in Koal.
She eventually parted ways with her adventurer friends in the city of Khuul. Here she worked as a dock hand as well as joining the fighters guild. She did odd jobs for the guild, hoping eventually she could make enough connections to go back to Koal and free everyone. One day while loading a ship setting sail for Volmoria she made a unlucky discovery, these items where stolen. Attempting to do something about it resulted in her being captured, taken aboard, and arrested with the rest of the crew in Volmoria. She was taken to the Volmoria Colosseum as a sentence.
She wears a wristlet with her lucky charm in it. A Lapis Lazuli that she mined as a child.
