Chivalrous Aspect

A cavalier with this archetype eschews the typical battlefield tactics of her class. Instead she forms a bond of honor and virtue with her mount, a bond that persists even in death. A cavalier with this class feature gains a similar ability to a hunter, however instead of calling upon aspects of nature she channels aspects of chivalry.

Class: Cavalier

Level: 1st, 9th, 17th

Replaces: Tactician, Greater Tactician, Master Tactician

Benefit: A cavalier who chooses the chivalrous aspect archetype gain the following class feature:

Chivalrous Aspect (Ex): When mounted, a cavalier may bestow a chivalrous aspect to her mount as a swift action. The effect of a chivalrous aspect lasts until the cavalier dismount, or use a swift action to select another chivalrous aspect.

Audacity: The mount's speed increases by 10 feet and gain the benefit of the Run feat. If the mount already possesses the Run feat, her running speed multiplier increases by 1.

Bravery: The mount is immune to fear-effect.

Dignity: The rider gains a +2 bonus on all Charisma-based skill checks. This bonus increases by +2 at 9th and 17th level.

Fidelity: The mount gains a +4 bonus on all saves made against [charm] and [compulsion] that forces it to act against her rider. If the mount is conscious the rider never risks falling from her unless they willingly dismount.

Honesty: The mount gains a +2 bonus on AC while charging, and deals an extra 1d6 damage on a charge attack. The bonus damage increases by 1d6 at 9th and 17th level.

Integrity: The mount gains a +4 bonus on saves against spells and spell-like abilities with an alignment descriptor. At 9th level the mount gains Spell Resistance 10 + her rider's cavalier level against spells with an alignment descriptor.

Piety: The mount counts as worshiping the same deity as the rider and her alignment counts as being the same as the rider when beneficial.

Purity: The mount gains immunity to disease and poison.

Tenacity: The mount gain the benefits of the Diehard and Endurance feats.

At 9th level the cavalier may select a second aspect, when she uses a swift action to switch one aspect she may switch both. At 17th level the cavalier chooses one chivalrous aspect to be permanently on her mount, even when she is dismounted. This aspect is in addition to the two other chivalrous aspects she may bestow to her mount.

While a cavalier's mount is dead, she may bestow her chivalrous aspect to herself instead. The cavalier does not need to be mounted to benefit from her chivalrous aspect in this way and count as both the mount and rider for the purpose of determining the effect. At 9th level she may bestow herself a second aspect. At 17th level she switches one or both aspects on herself as a free action once per round.

This ability replaces tactician, greater tactician and master tactician.
