I am not who you should be afraid of--it is your dreams that should frighten you more.

Class Traits[edit]

Class Traits
Role: Controller. Dreamweavers are extremely potent with their powers—affecting multiple creatures and using defender-like powers here and there. Sometimes, a Dreamweaver can become a temporary Leader in some scenarios when they are needed. In a sense, a Dreamweaver is everything but a true striker..
Power Source: Divine. You channel divine forces through your body and into the minds of others—bringing up horrible visages of their worst nightmares. Most of the time, you summon your worst nightmares and harry them at your foes..
Key Abilities: Charisma, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom

Dreamweavers are a force to be reckoned with. They are the divine equivalent to a Wizard’s power--yet are as effective as a Cleric. Dreamweavers tap into the minds of other living beings and use them to their advantage. Sometimes, a corrupted Dreamweaver uses a person’s nightmare to scare or torment them and transform their nightmare into a restless soul. A devoted Dreamweaver seals a person’s fate with prophetic doomsday-like powers to annihilate the being off of the face of the world.

A Dreamweaver’s devotion to his or her powers is like taking a giant leap of faith to an unknown channel of power--one that can be devastating to a whole group of people. But Dreamweavers of all kinds have learned to control and concentrate their powers to a single focused entity. From this entity comes the fabric of the divine works--a single link between them and their patron deity. Because of their hard work, they have formed alliances with the deities, much like Clerics and Paladins.

But whatever your goal is, keep in mind that dreams can be delusions of memory--when put in many ways, it can cause consequences far greater than death. Choose wisely, as the ultimate test shall come to you.

DREAMWEAVER OVERVIEW[edit]

Characteristics: Dreamweavers exemplify the finest strands of divine connections between the soul and the patron deities. They are stoic, devoted, and focused. They are divine wizards at best, and nothing describes the Dreamweaver better than their amazing combat skills--by using one's dreams against themselves. They can also use their own dreams to provide a number of benefits, such as protecting their allies or charming their enemies to turn back or simply take control.

Religion: As they are heavily devoted, Dreamweavers actually worship a number of deities. Mainly, prophetic dreamweavers tend to worship Pelor, while nightmare dreamweavers tend to worship the Raven Queen. They take serious pride in their devotion, and they know that the slightest separation can become disastrous.

Races: Shardmind and Githzerai are among the most common nightmare dreamweavers, alongside Deva and Shifters; Gnomes and Half-elves see themselves as prophetic dreamweavers. Humans also make it along the lines of dreamweavers, as they can benefit from either build.

Creating a Dreamweaver[edit]

Dreamweavers focus on powers that affect multiple creatures--ally and/ or enemy. Wisdom is the most common ability used amongst the Dreamweavers, since it requires a lot of focus and energy to reach into the minds of others. Charisma and Intelligence is used primarily as a backup for increasing the intensity of a single spell. Constitution is mainly a power buffer, increasing defenses or improving certain healing powers.

Nightmare Dreamweaver[edit]

You delight in scaring your foes out of their wits. You use their dreams to your advantage and wrap your divine energies around them to seal their fates. Intelligence is your best ability to use for these powers; Wisdom applies to how much mental strength is put into a dream to increase the effectiveness of your tyranny and providing power boons to your allies' attacks. Constitution helps in creating small defense buffers amongst your allies, making it more difficult for your enemies to push through. Choose powers that make use of your abilities to take control over your opponents and to harness the power of nightmares.

Prophetic Dreamweaver[edit]

You are adept in seeing one’s prophecies--even if it means that they will most likely die within a few seconds. You shun those who defy you, and protect your allies with enlightening memories to enhance the teamwork in your group. Wisdom is the most effective ability for your powers; Charisma drives you even further into the wake of battle and providing power boons to your allies' defenses. Constitution greatly helps in increasing the effects of certain healing powers. Choose powers that make use of your abilities to drive yourself and your allies into the heart of the enemy.

Dreamweaver Class Features[edit]

All Dreamweavers share these class features.

Channel Divinity[edit]

Once per encounter, you can invoke divine power--filling yourself with the might of your patron diety. With the divine might you invoke you can wield special powers, such as Divine Fate and Divine Prophecy. Some Dreamweavers learn other uses for this feature; for instance, the divinity feats in Chapter 6 of the Player’s Handbook grant characters with access to the Channel Divinity class feature--the ability to use additional special powers based on your patron deity. Like Clerics, you can use only two Channel Divinity powers per encounter--one of them is a class build power, and the other is the class feat power. The special ability or power you invoke works just like your other powers.

Divine Protection[edit]

You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Constitution modifier while wearing Light or no armor.

Haunting Words[edit]

The mere words of your power renders your foes in fear and you foretell them of their doom shortly after you make your move. You can use the Haunting Words power to challenge your opponent’s willpower.

Memories of Hope[edit]

Using the Memories of Hope power, Dreamweavers can restore their fallen allies to life and heal wounds with the embrace of memories that spark courage and hope.

Implements[edit]

Dreamweavers make use of a Holy Symbol to further empower their prayers. Most of their melee attack powers gain the benefit of the Holy Symbol’s special powers. Dreamweavers can still use these powers even without a holy symbol. That’s where the similarity ends. Dreamweavers can also use their weapon’s proficiency bonus in concordance with their holy symbol’s enhancement bonus. In short, powers with the implement and/or weapon keywords can benefit from a weapon’s proficiency bonus and/or holy symbol’s enhancement bonus.

Dreamweaver Powers[edit]

Dreamweaver powers are called Prayers. Some are better for the Nightmare Dreamweaver and some are better for the Prophetic Dreamweaver, but a Dreamweaver can choose any prayer when making a power selection.

Class Features[edit]

The Dreamweaver has 3 class features that work like powers: Channel Divinity, Haunting Words, and Memories of Hope. The Channel Divinity class feature encompasses two different powers for the Dreamweaver class builds (Divine Fate for Nightmare Dreamweavers; Divine Prophecy for Prophetic Dreamweavers). Channel Divinity encompasses multiple powers as well.

You incite faith into your spells and release it as a powerful burst of energy--wiping out your foes and altering their defenses for a short while.

Effect: You gain a +1 bonus on your next attack roll. If the attack hits, the target suffers a -1 penalty to all defenses until the end of your next turn.

Channel Divinity: Divine Prophecy
Dreamweaver Class Feature
You channel a surge of your energy and convert it into a temporary boon of power.
Encounter ✦ Divine, Radiant
Minor Action Personal
Effect: You gain a +1 bonus to all defenses until the end of your next turn. During this effect, any target hit by any melee attack takes extra Radiant damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Haunting Words
Dreamweaver Class Feature
With a quite whisper, your foe is driven mad with the fate of its doom in its eyes, making it suffer.
Encounter ✦ Divine, Charm, Fear
Standard Action Ranged 5
Target: One creature
Attack: Intelligence vs. Will
Hit: The target suffers a -2 penalty to attack rolls and to all defenses until the end of your next turn.
Aftereffect: The target suffers a -1 penalty to Will until the end of the encounter.

Memories of Hope
Dreamweaver Class Feature
Inspiring words of wisdom race from your mouth to your ally--encouraging him to move on without worry.
At-Will ✦ Divine, Healing
Special: You can use this power a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1) per encounter, but only once per round
Minor Action Close Burst 5
Target: One ally within burst that you can see
Effect: You spend a healing surge but you don’t regain hit points. Instead, the target regains hit points as if it had spent a healing surge. The target also gains a +1 bonus to Fortitude until the end of your next turn.

Paragon Paths[edit]

Artifice Crafter -- The creator of dreams, utilizing the power of Dream Points to improve one's attacks and defenses.
Faithblade -- A dreamweaver who believes that the true power of the dream comes not from the mind alone-- but from their blade.
Prophecy Guardian -- A Prophetic dreamweaver gifted the power to bestow one's prophecy before them.
Shadow Guardian -- A Nightmare dreamweaver whom lurks in the shadows, spilling inky tendrils of darkness over their foes.
