1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

The Dueling Saber resembles a longsword in lenght and shape, but features a different balance, closer to the grip, a slighltly curved blade and a protective hilt, usually with an elaborated handguard. With Exotic Weapon Proficiency, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus on any checks to resist being disarmed can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a dueling sword sized for you, even though it isn’t a light weapon. You can also wield a dueling saber in two hands to apply 1-1/2 times your Strength bonus to damage rolls.

The Dueling Saber, thanks to it's elaborate structure, has a wonderful balance that allows a wielder without the Exotic Weapon Proficiency to use it as martial weapon, both as a longsword or a rapier; in that case, at the beginning of each round the wielder have to declare whether he wants to use the Dueling Saber, alternatively as a longsword or as a rapier.

Characters proficient with the Dueling Saber are also proficient with the Elven Thinblade (and vice-versa) and may treat them as a Longsword or a as Rapier for purposes of any of the following feats: Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization.
