Unspeakable Abominations[edit]

Some Unspeakable Abominations aspire to be huge, city-leveling leviathans. To achieve that end, they slowly reshape theirselves into a bigger and more unstoppable entity.

Making an Unspeakable Abomination[edit]

Unspeakable Abominations are quite tough and good at rampaging through cities, but lack tact or finesse.

Abilities: Unspeakable Abominations like Strength and Constitution.

Races: Eldritch Horrors are the only ones who become Unspeakable Abominations.

Alignment: Any.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Unspeakable Abomination.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Unspeakable Abomination are proficient with simple and martial weapons, and with light, medium, and heavy armor.

Ability Score Boosts: The Unspeakable Abomination's Strength and Constitution improve with level.

Size Increase: At levels 2, 4, 6, 9, and 15, the Unspeakable Abomination's size increases by one step. This does not change the Unspeakable Abomination's ability scores.

Unspeakable Attribute: At levels 1, 5, 8, 11, 13, 16, 18, and 20, the Unspeakable Abomination gains an attribute from the following table:

Table: Unspeakable Attributes

Attribute Name Prerequisites Effect
Different Illogic (Su) You gain Spell Resistance equal to 8 + your character level + your Constitution modifier. When you resist a spell in this way, you randomly change color.
Oppressive Aura (Su) Your Aura of Horror's area of effect increases by 10' per class level. In addition, any creature that enters your aura for the first time in 24 hours (either because they approached you or you approached them) must make a Will save (DC 10 + half character level + Charisma modifier) or become frightened for 1d6 rounds. Finally, all creatures within your aura are shaken, independent of Hit Dice.
Mind Destroying Field (Su) Oppressive Aura Your Aura of Horror's area of effect increases by 20' per class level. In addition, creatures that fail their Will saves are panicked for 2d6 rounds. All creatures within 1 mile per class level are shaken.
Impenetrable Flesh (Ex) You gain Damage Reduction X/-, where X is your character level plus your class level.
Breath of Mutation (Su) You gain a breath weapon that afflicts a 30' +10'/class level cone with 1d6 +character level/3 points of Constitution damage on a failed Fortitude save. In addition, creatures who fail their saves suffer from the detrimental effect of a random one of the following flaws for 24 hours: Inattentive, Unreactive, Masochist, Insomnia, Paranoia, or Misanthrope.
Accelerating Regeneration (Ex) You gain Fast Healing 1. Your Fast Healing increases by 1 for every 5 hit points below maximum you are currently at.
Ageless Age (Su) The area within 100' per class level of you is timeless with respect to magic (spells with durations are permanent until dispelled).
Mageless Mage (Ex) The area within 100' per class level of you is a null magic zone.
Rageless Rage (Su) Nobody within 100' per class level of you can be influenced by Charm effects, Diplomacy, or Intimidate, and everybody within 100' per class level of you gets a +4 bonus to Strength.
Spawn Horror (Ex) As a full-round action, you can create a new Aberration with intelligence less than your own, and a CR no greater than your character level -2. You can control Aberrations spawned in this way, to a limit of an encounter level equal to your character level -1; If you spawn Aberrations over this limit, you must dismiss some of them: they still exist, but are free to wander about and may even attack you if you mistreated them. Spawn Horror takes 1d4+1 hours to recharge each time it is used.
Gaping Maw (Ex) You gain a bite attack that deals 1d10 damage if you're a medium creature. If you successfully damage a creature with this bite attack, you can then attempt to start a grapple or trip as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Venomous Fangs (Ex) Gaping Maw Your bite attack is poisonous, dealing 1d6 Wisdom damage (+1 per three character levels), with a Fortitude save DC of 10 + half your character level + your Constitution modifier.
Endless Gullet (Ex) Gaping Maw You gain Swallow Whole: You can try to swallow a grabbed opponent by making a successful grapple check. Once inside you, the creature takes 1d4 points of acid damage per character level each round. A swallowed creature can also cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 25 points of damage to your stomach (AC 14). Once the creature exits, your shifting body closes the hole; another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. Your stomach can hold 1 creature that's 1 size smaller than you, 4 creatures that are two sizes smaller than you, 16 creatures that are three sizes smaller than you, etcetera.
Soul Eater (Su) Endless Gullet Creatures in your stomach take an additional 1 point of Vile damage per character level each round. In addition, creatures who die from this stomach damage cannot be resurrected by any means, and you gain 10 temporary hit points when a creature dies in this way.
Tentacular (Ex) You gain two tentacles that each can deal 1d6 points (if Medium) of bludgeoning damage as secondary natural attacks. They also give you a +3 bonus to grapple checks.
Tentacle Overload (Ex) Tentacular Whenever you take an attack or full attack action, you may make one extra secondary tentacle attack against each creature within reach, and each creature up to 10' beyond your reach as well. In addition, all of your tentacles do damage as though they increased in size by two steps.

Aberrant Attribute: At levels 3, 7, 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19, the Unspeakable Abomination gains an attribute from the following table:

Table: Aberrant Attributes

Attribute Name Prerequisites Effect
Horrible Wings (Ex) You gain a 20' +5'/character level clumsy fly speed. This improves to average at character level 7, and good at character level 16.
Incomprehensible Swooping (Ex) Horrible Wings Your fly speed increases by 30' +10'/character level and its maneuverability improves by one step.
Skittering Scuttling (Ex) You gain a 20' +5'/character level climb speed, and your base land speed increases by 5'/character level.
Alacritous Haste (Ex) All movement speeds you possess increase by 10'/character level.
Incomprehensible Armor (Ex) You gain an armor bonus equal to 5 + one-half your character level.
Alien Biology (Ex) You become immune to critical hits, poisons, diseases, death effects, and mind-affecting effects. This is obvious to any outside observer who sees what you look like (noticing any disguises) and succeeds on a DC 10 Knowledge (Dungeoneering) check.
Inconceivable Recovery (Ex) You naturally heal 3 hit points per round. In addition, you regrow body parts 1d4 rounds after they are removed.
Unkillable Menace (Su) Inconceivable Recovery While you are dead, continue keeping track of your hit point total, and continue regaining health from Inconceivable Recovery. If you ever gets to -9 or more health, you stop being dead. Effects that would normally kill you without changing your hit point total set your hit point total to -200.
An Excess of Eyes (Ex) Your profusion of eyes gives you a +8 to Spot and Search checks, and makes it so you can't be flanked.

Ex-Unspeakable Abominations[edit]

Characters who somehow stop being Eldritch Horrors lose all benefits of this class. If the change is permanent, they may replace their Unspeakable Abomination levels with other class levels.
