Exploits[edit]

Exploits, at their simplest, are casting for non-casters. To use exploits, you must have levels in an exploit-using class.

To gain the effect of an exploit, it must be on your exploits known list. How many exploits you can have on your exploits know list depends on your class.

Exploits are, like spells, divided into 9 levels. You must be a high enough level to choose an exploit as an exploit known.

Exploits come in 3 basic types: Passive, Active and Trivial.

  • Passive exploits are always working while they are one of your exploits known.
  • Active exploits known can be activated twice per day.
  • Trivial exploits known can be activated at will.

Activating an active or trivial exploit takes a standard action unless the exploit notes otherwise. All exploits are (Ex) abilities, even those that copy a spell. If an exploit allows a saving throw, the DC is 10+the level of the exploit+the exploit-users Constitution modifier.

A exploit-user also can research exploits independently, much as an spellcaster can research spells. Only the creator of such a exploit can have it as an exploit known, unless they decide to share it with others.
