1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.
The flak cannon is a wide gun with a stock of explosive such as gunpowder, and is able to use nearly anything tiny or smaller as ammunition. This makes ammunition effectively free and unlimited, but causes all attacks done with this weapon to take a -2 penalty to attack. It has capacity for 5 shots that can be reloaded as a full round action, or one shot as a swift action. If you have an effect such as Rapid Reload this goes down to a move action and a free action once per round.
Attacks with a flak cannon spread out rapidly, and it is treated as a thrown weapon for the purpose of range increments and interacting with feats and other effects. There are two ways to fire this weapon.
Focused Shot: Attacks are done as normal, though the weapon is treated as a area of effect for interacting with swarms.
Spread Shot: Your attacks become a 20 ft cone, which has no attack roll but provokes a Reflex save for half damage. DC 10 + 1/2 BAB + the ability modifier used for attack rolls (usually Dexterity. Only one save is needed each round regardless of the number of attacks.
The flak cannon is usually a two handed, but it may be fired (but not loaded) as a one-handed weapon with an additional -4 penalty to attack. If your Strength is 13 or higher, you do not take this penalty.
If the majority of your ammunition contains a majority of a special material (enough to make for one or more pieces of ammunition such as cold iron) the shots have the material applied to them. Alchemical items can also be consumed, applying the alchemical effect to the next shot fired.
