The Monk went for a kick to the throat, but his opponent caught his feet in her hands… and suddenly he couldn't move his feet anymore.
This esoteric technique allows initiators to freeze their own blood and transfer the loss of energy by touch. This maneuver is used in response to an attack. The sudden loss of energy causes rapid cooling, leaving the limb or weapon used to strike frozen in ice. This instantly negates the attack, and allows a Reflex save. If the attacking creature fail it Reflex save it limb or weapon become frozen in contact with the initiator.
If a manufactured weapon was used, it is affected as per chill metal (even if not made of metal) at freezing temperature for as long as the weapon is trapped and further attacks with it become impossible. While holding a frozen weapon, the attacker is considered Immobilized. A DC 20 Strength checks as a standard action, frees the weapon but does not negate the chill, this allows the weapon to be used in additional attacks and ends the immobilization. The weapon gradually cools until the effect ends once contact is broken. The initiator is also Immobilized for as long as contact is maintained, but can easily free herself (see below).
If the attacker makes physical contact, such as an unarmed strike, natural weapon or a touch attack, it is dealt 4d6 points of cold damage and its limb is frozen, much like for a weapon. Every round the attacker stays in contact with the initiator they take an additional 4d6 points of cold damage at the start of each of its turn. If it is brought to 0 hit point or below by this damage, the attacker completely freezes over and the initiator can opt to shatter them to pieces upon breaking contact, killing it instantly. Otherwise they stay frozen in ice at their current hit points, immobilized dying in a statue of ice but stable.
The initiator can break contact, freeing a weapon or limb as a free action, ending both their immobilization and freeing the attacker. If the contact is somehow broken, such as one party teleporting away the effect abruptly ends.
This maneuver has a 50% chance to fail to block attacks with the Flaming special enhancement, attacks with the flame blade spell or if the attacking weapon is otherwise on fire.
