This crossbow appears to have grown naturally into its shape, made of uncarved wood and vines for string and mechanical bits. A bud rapidly produces shafts of wood as bolts, which is impressive. More impressive is what happens when the vines take root.
The gaea siegebow is unusual not only being a light crossbow +1 which druids are proficient with, but being a crossbow with two interesting powers. It can generate mundane wooden bolts (which are +1 due to the weapon when fired) with the same action it takes to load a bolt into a normal crossbow at will, granting infinite ammo. And the other is its ability to transform into a ballista.
As a 1 round action on any natural soil, sand, or other burrow-able surface (typically dirt) the gaea siegebow roots itself, vines and bark rapidly planting itself down and half-encasing its user within its body. The user takes up a space one size larger (usually Large). As a ballista it deals 4d6 damage (19-20/x2 critical), with a range increment of 110 ft. to a maximum of 1100 ft (instead of the usual x5 maximum range). It can be reloaded as a full-round action (or a move action with Rapid Reload), and counts as a siege weapon. The ballista and user are immobile and fixed in a single direction (which they may fire anywhere within a cone shaped arc), but may turn 360 degrees in place as a move action. While in ballista form the user is denied their Dex modifier to AC, but has 50% cover, with any missed attacks going for the gaea siegebow. Returning from ballista form is also a 1 round action.
The gaea siegebow (in both forms) has hardness 5 and 50 hp. It is unusually durable, and recovers 1 hp a round while in ballista form.
