Gorgoneion Paragon

Gorgoneions and medusas are closely related, though not quite in power. However, paragons of their kind become ever the closer to being actual medusas, and bolstering the abilities of their race.

Making a Gorgoneion Paragon

Abilities: While the ultimate ability score array will depend on the nature of the gorgoneion, all enjoy a good Charisma for their racial abilities.

Races: Gorgoneion.

Alignment: Any.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Gorgoneion Paragon.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Gorgoneion paragons are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, rapier, sap, shortbow, and short sword. Rogues are proficient with light armor, but not with shields.

Bloodline: At 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level the gorgoneion paragon gains a new bloodline from their race's selection of deadly hair, persistent gaze, snakebond, and snake tail. By 3rd level, it will have all its bloodlines known.

Darkvision (Ex): The gorgoneion paragon gains darkvision out to 60 feet.

Monstrous: A gorgoneion paragon's type changes to monstrous humanoid, through they may count themselves as humanoid when beneficial. She may also select from Monstrous feats.

Natural Armor (Ex): A gorgoneion paragon gains her class level as a bonus to natural armor.

Rapid Progression: A 2nd level gorgoneion paragon is able to learn and improve her racial skills at a quicker rate. She counts as 150% her character level for determining when she recieves benefits from her scaling racial abilities (round down).

Ability Bonus: At 3rd level a gorgoneion paragon gains a +2 bonus to Charisma.

Campaign Information

Playing a Gorgoneion Paragon

Religion: Without a land and a unified culture, the gorgoneions also lack a specific deity they worship, though many adopt the deity of the balareions, Colocolo. Otherwise, if they choose to worship, it is a god or goddess related to the region they commonly visit, preferring chaotic deities over lawful ones.

Other Classes: Others may see the gorgoneion paragon with concern, given her monstrous nature. However she continues to have keen control over her stoning powers even as they rapidly grow more potent.

Combat: What role a gorgoneion paragon has depends entirely on her other class levels, but with full BAB and decent hp, they can move into the front lines to mix it up with bites and poison.

Advancement: A gorgoneion paragon may choose to take advantage of their Charisma in a charisma based class.

Daily Life: A gorgoneion paragon is a monster, but a humanoid one. If she is careful, she can pass for human. Her whole life is often lived under a disguise.

Notables: Shubby is a legendary gunner who walks the plains. They say that her bullets turn people to stone, but some claim she actually is a...

Organizations: Gorgoneion paragons do not associate with each other. Half the time, their identities are secret.

NPC Reactions: Don't let the NPCs know there's a gorgoneion paragon about, lest the cries of "medusa" draw foolhearty adventurers with blades drawn.

Characters with ranks in Knowledge Arcana can research gorgoneion paragon to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

10	Gorgoneion paragons are monstrous humanoids like the medusas they resemble. They gain additional racial traits beyond their normal kin.
15	A gorgoneion paragon seem to get their powers quicker and faster than normal gorgoneions of similar power and strength.
20	Powerful gorgoneion paragons are charismatic and charming, but have many racial powers which bring petrifying doom to all.
30	Those that reach this level of success can look up specific gorgoneion paragons, their whereabouts, lore, activities, and motives.
