1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

The great crossbow is an even heavier and stronger version of the crossbow. You draw a great crossbow back by turning a medium winch. Loading a great crossbow is a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity.

You can shoot, but not load, a great crossbow with one hand at a –8 penalty on attack rolls, if you have 22 strength you can fire it at -4 penalty and no penalty to 28 strength. You can't shoot a heavy crossbow with each hand due to the size.

Characters with martial weapon proficiency may use the great crossbow without penalty but having exotic weapon proficiency in the great crossbow allows the use of special tricks with the great crossbow.

Siege Shot When firing with the great crossbow your attacks count as siege missiles when beneficial.

Puncturing Shot When firing at a foe within 50 feet your attacks with the great crossbow ignore 3 points of natural armor or equipment armor that is mundane based. At 75 feet they ignore 3 points, 100 feet 2 points and 1 point at 125 feet.

Powerful Shot When using ranged based abilities such as ranged pin, ranged disarm, ranged sunder etc, you may add to the DC an additional 3 against the target.

Shattering Shot When using the great crossbow against objects you ignore 5 points of hardness.

Fell Shot On an attack roll of a natural 20, the target if it is the same size or smaller then the character is automatically knocked prone.
