Hook Shield[edit]
The hook shield is a jagged looking shield useful for disarming opponents.
Hook shields come in light or heavy shield versions, with the same weight and properties as the aforementioned shields. However, their edges are covered in intimidating hooks which happen to be good at catching weapons. Hook shields give a +2 bonus to disarm checks, and if used to shield bash they can deal bludgeoning or slashing damage. Light shields count as a one-handed weapon for disarm checks, and heavy shields count as a two-handed weapon.
If you ready an action to disarm and succeed, you tear the weapon away with your shield and the opponent provokes an attack of opportunity, to which they are flatfooted against (not to mention disarmed). When you have BAB +6 or higher, you may ready an action to disarm as a move action. When you have BAB +11 or higher, you may ready an action to disarm as a swift action.
