The Arcanist Franklin Huxley was obsessed with the sky and shooting stars. She used her knowledge to create this devious spell.
This spell creates a fist-sized shooting star you can aim at a target or a grid intersection within the spell's range.
If aimed at a target you may make a ranged touch attack, dealing 2d6 bludgeoning damages from the impact if it hits. Whether it hits or misses, the shooting star explodes at the nearest corner of the target’s space, dealing 1d6 fire damage per caster level (maximum 15d6) to all creatures within a 10-ft spread. A successful Reflex save halves the damage. If successfully struck, the target of the attack takes a -4 penalty on the Reflex save against the blast and does not gain the benefit of Evasion or Improved Evasion against it.
The caster may elect to do a cluster shot, dividing the fire damage dice dealt by this spell between multiple shooting stars. Each shooting star must deal a minimum of 2d6 damage and a maximum of 5d6 damage. The shooting stars must all be fired at grid intersections within 30 feet of each other, you cannot aim at a creature with a cluster shot. If a creature is in the area of multiple blasts, it attempts a single Reflex save against the combined damage.
