Invisible Caltrops[edit]
Few things are as unwelcome to adventurers as the feeling of an unexpected metal spike being shoved into one's foot. Caltrops can be spotted, which naturally led those employed in the home defense industry to design an affordable upgrade to the standard 2 lb. bag of caltrops.
Invisible caltrops are permanently invisible until stepped on, at which point the invisibility effect is suppressed for 10 minutes. They function as normal caltrops, except they receive a +1 to attack and damage. Unless the target is somehow aware of the caltrops, they are treated as flat-footed (pardon the pun) against the attack in addition to the normal penalties.
