POOF! And the lich was a box of expensive chocolate.
You transform a creature into a mindless inert item of up to 50 gp value per HD the creature possessed, including magic items such as wands, scrolls, potions, or enhanced weapons and armor. If this item is broken, damaged, or consumed (such as if a potion or food item), the subject (if ever returned to its original state) has similar damage or deformities. Spell completion or charged items such as wands are not considered "consumed" even if their charges are brought to 0. The creature is not dead, but it does not seem to be alive either when viewed with spells such as deathwatch. However it does radiate strong transmutation magic.
The effect can be reversed with a second casting of item morph, with polymorph any object, or limited wish. Attempts at locating the original creature through divination magic point to the item instead.
Focus: A small model treasure chest worth 1000 gp.
