This wooden and canvas beach chair folds up, protects the sitter from the sun and muffles loud sounds for a relaxing day at the beach. First developed in the island nation of Makuaa to appease visiting nobles and courtesans, the chairs and the knowledge to make them has since spread. Some models include cup holders.
Upon unfolding the chair and laying upon it, the sitter finds themselves under several weak, but helpful, abjurations. The wearer is protected mildly from the sun, and would tan evenly from any long exposure, protected from sunburn as well as conferring protection against [Light] damage, converting the first 2 damage from any source into nonlethal damage (if possible). Additionally, loud sounds sound fainter to someone upon the chair, increasing Listen DCs by 5 (though casual speaking is still heard as normal) and converting the first 2 damage from any [Sonic] source into nonlethal damage (if possible). Deploying or folding up the chair is a move action that doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity.
