Master Swordsman
A Master Swordsman seeks to master the art of the blade. They eschew the uses of other weapons, and instead focus solely on the way of the sword. They quickly become masters of their craft, but lose in versatility.
Class: Combatant
Level: 1st-20th
Replaces: Exotic Training, Extraordinary Armor Master, Extraordinary Weapon Master, Extraordinary Forger
Benefit: A Master Swordsman gains the following class features:
Class Skill: A Master Swordsman adds Knowledge (History) to her list of class skills.
Weapon Proficiency (Ex): A Master Swordsman is proficient with all martial and simple weapon and the Bastard Sword, Katana, Wakizashi and one additional exotic sword of the Master Swordsman's choice.
Sword Focus (Ex): A Master Swordsman gain Weapon Focus with one type of sword she is proficient with.
Sword Scholar (Ex): A Master Swordsman of 3rd level gain half her class bonus on Knowledge (History) checks made to learn the legend, history or events surrounding a sword. Once per day, she may cast identify as a spell-like ability, but only to learn the properties of a magical sword. If you play Pathfinder the Master Swordsman uses Knowledge (History) instead of Spellcraft to identify the magical properties of swords.
Sword Training (Ex): At 5th level, a Master Swordsman gain the Weapon Training class feature as a fighterPathfinder with both Light Blades and Heavy Blades, gaining a +1 bonus on attack and damage with weapons belonging to either weapon group. This bonus improves by +1 at 9th level and each 4 levels thereafter.
