Military Backpack[edit]
A military backpack is a well optimized and reinforced adventuring backpack. It possess multiple pouches which are reinforced with extra fabric and a sturdy well-balanced design. When wearing a military backpack you count as having a strength score 2 points higher for the purpose of carrying capacity, however any extra weight over your normal carrying capacity must be placed in the backpack. A military backpack takes the shoulder item slot, magical military backpacks enchanted to act like a cloak exists.
The backpack can also be made of special fabric material such as dordweave or kevlarium. Military backpacks made of special fabric grants a +1 Armor bonus to AC which stacks with actual armor (but not other sources of armor bonus such as an armored collar) and the benefits of the material as if the backpack was light armor. If the character was already wearing light or medium armor of the same material as the backpack her armor counts as one category heavier for the purpose of benefits she gains from the material.
Since it's well optimized, a character with base attack bonus of 1 or more can retrieve an item from a military backpack as a move action. A character with the quick draw feat can retrieve a single item per round as a free action and any beyond that as a move action.
