This spell unleashes a swarm of scarabs, which bites and devours all in their way, before coming back to you so you can feed on their victim's lifeforce. All creatures in the area take 1d8 damage per two levels (maximum of 10d8). You gain 1 temporary hit points per hit dice of each creature caught in the area. The temporary hit points disappear 1 hour later.
A successful Fortitude save halves the damage and prevents the caster from gaining temporary hit points from you.
If a creature is slain by this spell, you gain an additional 5 temporary hit points. A slain creature with less than 1 hit dice does not grant any additional temporary hit points.
