Penance Stare
Other Warlock Greater; 7th

When you use this invocation you make a gaze attack against one target, with a range equal to the range of your Eldritch Blast.

The target must make a Will save or suffer a specific effect, depending on the amount of sins and evil deeds it has done.

Targets that have sinned a lot are stunned for 1d4 rounds, if they fail the save, and take non-lethal damage equal to their Hit Dice, if they succeed they are stunned for 1 round and still take the damage.

Targets with a mix of evil and good in them are dazed for 1 round and take non-lethal damage equal to half their Hit Dice if they fail the save and if they succeed they negate the dazing but not the damage.

Targets completely innocent or without any remorse are unaffected.

This is a mind-affecting effect, but creatures that would be immune to it are not (this apply even to any other immunity that may be relevant to these conditions). Instead, only remorseless or completely innocent creature (either because they don't feel any guilt or are not morally responsible) are unaffected. This may comprehend any non-intelligent creature, such as animals, constructs, plant or mindless undead. Neither fiends or celestials are usually unaffected, unless they are remorseless or innocent and pure.

When you learn to use dark invocations this effect enhances: sinful targets that fail the save count as unconscius for one round per Charisma modifier and stunned for 1d4 rounds afterwards and take double their HDs as non-lethal damage. A successful save means they are just stunned for 1d4 rounds and suffer the damage.

Morally grey targets are nauseated for one round and sickened for one round per Charisma modifier afterwards, taking non-lethal damage equal to their HDs. A successful save means they are just sickened for one round and suffer the damage.

Pure or remorseless targets are still unaffected.

A single target may be affected by this invocation only once per day, regardless of the result of its save.

Special: For simplicity's sake you may treat evil characters as sinful, neutral ones as morally grey and good characters as pure.
