Phoenix Vicar

Clerics who have devoted their life to the study of fire can become Phoenix Vicars. Phoenix Vicars can only have one Domain.

Class: Cleric

Prerequisites: Fire or Sun Domain, Cleric Level 1, Good Aligned

Level: 1

Replaces: Channel Energy, Alters Domains
Fire Devotee: A phoenix vicar must choose the Fire Or Sun domain. She does not gain a second domain. If the cleric worships a deity, that deity must be one that grants the Fire or Sun domain.

Benefit:
Channel Holy Fire: Channeling Holy Fire can be used in two ways. Channeling may be used to heal creatures of good alignment who fall within 15 feet of the caster. Channeling Holy Fire can also be used to create a 30 foot burst of fire damaging any creature of evil alignment. The amount of damage dealt or damage healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 for every 2 cleric levels beyond 1st. Creatures that take damage from Channel Holy Fire receive a reflex save to halve damage, the DC is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric level + the clerics Charisma modifier. (This replaces Channel Energy)

Fire Devotion:^{Complete Champion} At 3rd level once per day as a swift action, you can sheathe your body in red and orange flames. The fire does not harm you, but you illuminate the nearby area as a torch would. While you are thus alight, each of your melee attacks deals 1 extra point of fire damage + 1 point for every three character levels you possess (maximum +7 at 18th level). This effect lasts for 1 minute. Any foe injured by this fire ignites and burns for an additional ld4 points of fire damage per round unless it succeeds on a Reflex save (DC 10 + 1/2 your character level + your Cha modifier). A burning creature can take a move action to automatically douse the flames.

Flash Casting:^{Dragon Magazine #314}At 8th level a fiery nimbus surrounds you whenever you cast a spell with the fire or light descriptor. This makes it almost impossible to hide while spellcasting, but it makes you difficult to look at as well. For 1 round after casting a fire or light spell, creatures that attempt to attack you suffer a -2 penalty on attack rolls. Creatures must be able to see you to be affected by Flash Casting, and creatures with blindsight or creatures that cannot see are immune.
