While the outside case is typically brass, they've been found with other metals. The clock face is made of polished quartz.
This pocket watch is heavy in the hand, with an intricate but asymmetrical design on the back. It is usually attached to the wearer by a chain so that it stays attached even if dropped. In has hour and minute hands. The case is usually weathered and worn and the glass etched with wear. There's a curious additional button at the top.
When in working order, the additional button may be pressed once a day when held as a swift action. This grants the holder the effects of haste for 1d3 rounds. As soon as this wears off, they are then affected by slow for an equal number of rounds.
