This eldritch essence invocation allows you to change your eldritch blast into a recreant blast. Any creature struck by a recreant blast must succeed on a Will save or become shaken for 1 minute per 5 caster levels.
When greater invocations are known this causes frightened on a failed save and shaken on a successful save. The effects of recreant blast stacks with itself on failed saves and other fear effects when dark invocations are known.
Creatures with immunity to mind-affecting spells and abilities or fear effects cannot be affected by the fear aspect of this blast.
